Sixth for a Cause: Friends of the Kentucky Theater

August 2, 2014 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

“Support one of Downtown Lexington’s most loved destinations. On Saturday, August 2, from 3 – 7pm, join us in the taproom to support Friends of the Kentucky Theater.

A minimum of 6% of the day’s proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Kentucky in support of renovations to the concession area, planned for later this year.

Friends volunteers will be on hand to provide information on recent upgrades and the planned improvements, sell tshirts, theatre seat sponsorships, and provide free popcorn. In addition, a raffle will be held for four passes to see the 30th anniversary of the Talking Heads documentary concert film, ‘Stop Making Sense’.

The Friends of the Kentucky Theatre is a group of civic-minded members of the community who have come together as volunteers to raise funds in support of Lexington’s most famous and beloved movie house. Thanks to support from many individuals and businesses, significant projection and sound, electrical and lighting technology, and, seating upgrades were completed earlier this summer. But we’re not finished. The concession area is next.”
