Lit: Writer’s Block Festival, Louisville

October 13, 2012

The celebration begins on October 12 at 7:00 PM with the InKY reading series at The Bard’s Town Restaurant at1801 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY, featuring poet Maurice Manning and fiction writer Crystal Wilkinson.

Highlights on Saturday, the 13th include the Writer’s Block Conversation featuring Jim Higdon, author of The Cornbread Mafia and Keynote Reader Anis Mojgani two-time National Poetry Slam Winner. Their events will be at noon and 6 PM, respectively.

Panel discussions feature editors and authors discussing a variety of topics including the future of publishing, and the challenges of writing for young adult audiences.

Frederick Smock, Liz Fentress, Maurice Manning,  Kirby Gann, and Crystal Wilkinsonwill lead workshops ($25 advance registration) in poetry, fiction, memoir, travel writing, playwriting and young adult fiction.  Hound Dog Press, creator of festival poster, will also host a letterpress workshop
