UK defeated Louisville on Saturday, December 26 at Rupp Arena after a gritty second half. The No. 12 ranked Wildcats almost let a 16-point second half lead slip away, but they fought past the No. 16 Cardinals in a mistake-riddled end to the match. This included a 10-second violation on Louisville, a five-second violation on UK, a walk on Louisville, a bizarre shot-clock violation on UK with less than a minute left, and finally, an airball from downtown on the last shot of the game to seal the game for UK.
Tyler Ulis led Kentucky (10-2) with 21 points. Alex Poythress contributed 14 points, Dominique Hawkins added 13, and Jamal Murray had 12. UK made a season-high 11 3’s and are now 8-1 against the Cards under Coach Cal.
