A&W Burgers Chicken Floats is opening in downtown Lexington on 652 Main Street on August 8 (Grand Opening Celebration is 11 am to 3 pm). The new Main Street A&W will partner with two charities during the Grand Opening Week (Aug 3 – 9) and will donate 50 percent of sales to Wounded Warrior Project and the Lexington Humane Society.
Buddha Lounge has opened at 109 N. Mill Street offering fresh sushi, sashimi, and non-sushi menu items like Korean tacos.
Crank and Boom ice cream lounge has opened in the Distillery District.
Freakin’ Unbelievable Burgers, a fast-casual artisanal burger joint and Street Craves have opened in the former Hugh Jass burgers location near campus.
Don and Barb Wathen have sold Nick Ryan’s on Jefferson to the group that owns Suggins and the Tulip on Romany Road.
Juice bar The Press is coming to Kentucky Avenue in August, right in time for the Woodland Arts Fair. It’s opening at the location where La Petite Creperie used to be across from Woodland Park.
Chef John Foster’s new farm-to-table concept, the Sage Rabbit, opened in late July on S. Ashland.

Well Crafted Brews + Bands Festival is at the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill on August 8. The festival celebrates local music and food and craft beer while raising funds for sustainable environmental initiatives and programs. Participating breweries include Goose Island, Sierra Nevada, Rooster Brew, New Belgium, Blue Stallion, and West Sixth. Food vendors include Crank + Boom, Rolling Oven, Red State BBQ, and Great Bagel. The 2015 music lineup includes Lera Lynn, Great Peacock, Tyler Childers + The Foodstamps, etc.
