Make your pappy happy for Father’s Day: Buffalo Trace has a lottery for a June 13 dinner event, with a Van Winkle bourbon tasting guided by Julian and Preston Van Winkle. Email events@buffalotrace.com for lottery info. Seating is limited to 130 people and entering the lottery does not guarantee a seat.

The Melting Pot is offering endless fondue the weekend of Father’s Day. Bring Dad in for lunch or dinner on Friday, Saturday of Sunday and enjoy as much cheese, salad and chocolate as you’d like as well as your choice of a bottomless entree. Open from 5-11pm on Friday, 1-11 pm on Saturday and 1-9pm on Sunday.

The Hilary J. Boone Center at the University of Kentucky will be serving a Father’s Day weekend dinner buffet on Friday June 13th from 5:30-8 pm with “A Grand Night For Singing” performance immediately following (as well as a Father’s Day brunch on June 15th from 11:30 am – 2 pm. School is offering 50% off of Dad’s meal on Friday June 13th and Saturday June 14th.

SATURDAY JUNE 14, 2014

Paul Miller Ford will be partnering with the Bluegrass Mustang Club to present the Dads and Grad’s Car Show at the Auto Outlet from 9 am to 6 pm. The show welcomes all makes and models of cars and will feature live entertainment, food vendors, and a silent auction. The event will benefit several local charities and organizations including The Kentucky Children’s Hospital.

The inaugural Bourbon Derby Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 7:30 a.m. in Paris, Kentucky. This event will feature three race distances: Half Marathon, 10 miles and 4 miles. All three races will run through at least one Paris, Kentucky horse farm.

Versailles’ Woodford Reserve Distillery will offer a Father’s Day Eve dinner buffet on Saturday June 14th, with a signature Woodford Reserve cocktail. Father’s Day brunch will also be served on Sunday June 15th. Reservations (859) 879.1953

SUNDAY JUNE 15, 2014 

The Strangling Brothers will be playing their acoustic folk and bluegrass music on the patio of AZUR while chefs grill wagyu burgers with smoked cheddar and fried green tomatoes, Jamaican jerk chicken with papaya relish, wild-caught gulf shrimp and porter soaked andouille sausage, all served alongside a buffet of locally-influenced side dishes.

Blue Stallion will be joining The Gastro Gnomes for a special Father’s Day dinner and beer pairing starting at 7 pm. Tickets are available through Blue Stallion’s website and include a tour of the brewery, hors d’oeuvres and a four-course dinner served alongside four Blue Stallion brews, expertly paired to each course.

Brasabana will be serving a Father’s Day lunch buffet featuring Cuban style roasted pork, Guajillo rubbed prime rib and spice crusted tilapia with side dishes such as pineapple guacamole with plantain chips, cream of corn with bacon and jalapenos and tropical quinoa with mango, red pepper and cucumber.

The Grey Goose on Jefferson will be offering two-for-one pizzas for dads, grandads and stepdads. One special per table. Open from 11 am to 10 pm.

Jonathan at Gratz Park will be serving traditional Sunday brunch for the last time on Father’s Day this year. Although the restaurant will continue to serve dinner until June 28th, Sunday will mark the last day of serving breakfast or lunch.

Maker’s Mark will be celebrating Father’s Day with a special brunch and VIP tour. Unsurprisingly, the brunch will be bourbon-inspired and will also include a speciality cocktail bar. For those attending, there will be seatings at 11 am and 1 pm on Sunday, June 15th.

The Lexington Legends will be giving dads the VIP treatment with special passes that including a pre-game tour of the clubhouse and grounds keeping area; meet and greet with Legends players and coaches; pre-game time to play catch on the field;  opportunities to win door prizes; and an all you can eat buffet picnic.
