New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day Bar and Restaurant Guide for Lexington

New Year’s Eve falls on a Tuesday for 2013, ringing into 2014, so Lexington’s Sunday liquor laws will not come into play for this year’s bar and restaurant celebrations. A sampling of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day festivities follows.

New Year’s Eve 2013 Dining in Lexington

Azur Restaurant  in Beaumont Centre has seatings at 5 pm, 6:45 pm, and 9 pm, on New Year’s Eve,  in celebration of its nine year anniversary. On the menu is a one-night-only, 4-course dinner. DJ Rice will be playing in the background to ring in 2014.

The Dish at 438 S. Ashland will be offering a three course menu for $45 per person and a paired wine flight for $19 per person. Appetizers will be offered a la carte. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. (Brussels sprouts salad: recommended.)

Dudley’s at 259 W. Short will offer a prix fixe dinner.

Enoteca at 191 Jefferson Street will offer New Year’s Eve champagne and hors d’oeuvres 9 pm (regular tapas 4 pm to 8 pm).

Holly Hill Inn in Midway (426 N. Winter Street) Menu will include lobster, foie gras, scallops, fillet of beef tenderloin, dark chocolate and passionfruit. Seven  courses for $75.

Jean Farris Winery at 6825 Old Richmond Road will offer an a la carte menu, a special three-course prix-fixe, or a full five course tasting menu.

Jonathan at Gratz Park at 120 W. Second  will offer a four course prix-fixe menu for $85 per person.

Natasha’s on Esplanade. Dinner and a movie? Natasha’s will offer a four-course dinner (a la carte option also available), with half price Kentucky Theatre tickets available for patrons going to Nebraska at 7:40 or The Secret Life of Walter Mitty at 7:30 and 9:40. (Late night R and B dance party, 10 pm).

School Restaurant at 162 Old Todds Road will offer a New Year’s Eve $45 per person tasting menu.

815 Restaurant and Tavern in Midway, 131 E. Main Street, Midway. Dinner served in the tavern and the dining room 5 pm to 11 pm. Live music in the tavern starting at 9. A special three-course meal is planned for $40 per person and includes amuse bouche and options of roasted sea bass, braised lamb or grilled quail, soup or salad, sides and desserts. Village Idiot at 307 W. Short, New Year’s Eve prix fixe dinner menu with keg tapping. Reservations required.

Wines on Vine at 400 Old Vine. The Bistro has seatings at 6:30 and 8:30. Entrees, apps and salads off the regular menu will be served along with a complimentary glass of champagne. The Tavern will have its regular menu or you can choose the buffet for $25.

Winchell’s at 348 Southland Drive will offer its first annual New Year’s Eve lobster boil (reservations start at 4 pm).

New Year’s Eve Hotels and Inn Packages 2013

The Castle Post at 230 Pisgah Pike (Versailles) will offer a five-course dinner, with champagne. Two seatings, 5:30 pm and 8 pm. Tickets are $125/per person.

Campbell House at 1375 S. Broadway will feature live music with Caught Red Handed.

Clarion at 1950 Newtown Pike will feature Radio 80s in the Grand Ballroom, Karaoke in the Sports Bar, Bourbon Bar and Grill, and a DJ in the open area.

Doubletree at 2601 Richmond Road, two DJs and balloon drop at midnight.

Hilton at 369 W. Vine Street offers party packages and a prix fixe menu at their Triangle Grille Restaurant.

Hyatt Regency at 401 W. High Street New Year’s Eve with See Alice.

New Year’s Day Dining in Lexington, 2014

Alfalfa at 141 E. Main will serve brunch.

Good Foods Market and Cafe at 455 Southland Drive will offer its “first annual hangover brunch” on January 1, 2014 from 11 am to 3 pm. The hot buffet will be serving traditional New Year’s Day day foods such as black eyed peas and also some traditional “hangover” favorites as well.

Grey Goose on Jefferson is open New Year’s Day (and serving Bloody Marys).

Sal’s and Harry’s on Tates Creek is serving brunch, 11 am to 3 pm, on New Year’s Day, Thursday January 2, and Friday, January 3, 2014.

New Year’s Eve 2013 at Lexington’s Bars and Breweries

Belle’s Cocktail House at 156 Market Street will host their first annual New Year’s Eve party, 8 pm to 2:30 am. Admission is $35 at the door.
Blue Stallion Brewing  at 610 W. Third Street will offer a test batch oatmeal stout. Fork in the Road food truck will begin serving at  4 pm.

Country Boy Brewing at 436 Chair Avenue will be open 4 pm to 2 am on New Year’s Eve, and noon to midnight on New Year’s Day.

The Jax at 101 W. Short (corner of Limestone and Short) masquerade party. $50 admission at the door includes a champagne toast.

Lexington Beerworks at 218 N. Limestone will tap a new beer. Specials on beer and pizza.

Parlay Social at 257 W. Short Street will offer a champagne toast and live music from Boogie G and the Titanics.

The Pub at 3750 Mall Road will host two toasts, at 7 pm and 9 pm. At 7 pm, ring in the British New Year with a Guinness toast. (Live music, Masters of Karate, begins at 9 pm.)

Pulse Nightlife at 931 Winchester Road An Absolut New Year’s begins at 6 pm, with special guest from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Alexis Mateo.

SkyBar at 269 W. Main will feature VJ Scott Hammer. Champagne toast at midnight. $25 admission at the door.
Soundbar at 208 S. Limestone DJ Crow and DJ ReKnown. 

West Sixth Brewing at 501 W. Sixth will offer $3 beers from 10 pm until midnight on New Year’s Eve, and the return of the Snake Eyes Imperial Stout. (Smithtown Seafood will be open and serving food til midnight.)
