Lexington Restaurants Change Owners: Wine Market, Thai Orchid Cafe

Two Lexington restaurants have changed ownership. Husband-wife team Krim Boughalem and Andrea Sims have sold Wine + Market to former employee Renee Brewer who took ownership last week.  (Pictured, Ace coverstory 2008, from the Wine + Market opening.)

Toa Green is assuming the ownership of Thai Orchid Cafe  from her parents, Kat and Suda Veerasethakul. The Grand Re-Opening of Thai Orchid Cafe is scheduled for December 5 at 4 pm.

The Holiday Open House and Grand Re-Opening of Wine + Market is scheduled for December 9 and 10.  Brewer, who studied International Wine Marketing and Management in Europe,  before returning to work for a Napa Valley winery, and then in wine wholesale in Kentucky,  says she plans to “continue what Krim and Andrea created,” but will expand the wine selection and add spirits.

Boughalem and Sims also own Table 310 (voted Best Decadent Desserts, 2011 Ace Best of Lexington), which was featured in the November 2011 edition of Food and Wine Magazine.

F and W reported in the November feature that the pair’s next venture is

“turning an old  factory into Provisions, an 8,000 square foot space with a butcher, fishmonger, cheese counter (made with marble salvaged from the city’s courthouse), bakery, wine shop, brewery, and restaurant.”

Pastry girl Stella Parks’ “Best Decadent Desserts” are still available at Table 310, but are no longer available at Wine + Market.
