Pro Hemp and Pro Pot perennial candidate and Lexington attorney Gatewood Galbraith ran for governor five times before his death in 2012 at the age of 64. This documentary, which originated in the 1990s, follows him on the campaign trail.
The Lexington Premiere of Gatewood will be followed by a Q&A with director Chris Iovenko

Gigs: Harpeth Rising, Natasha’s
Folk-based Nashville band Harpeth Rising is touring in support of their third album (debuted in the Top Ten on the International Folk Charts), and will be playing in Lexington at Natasha’s Bistro on May 28th at 8:00pm. They are a classically trained group of musicians with influences in folk, bluegrass, and Celtic music. Instrumentation is violin, banjo, cello, and percussion.

The Bluegrass Birth Care Network presents the documentary film Guerrilla Midwife. The film follows the work of 2011 CNN Hero, Ibu Robin Lim. Filmmaker Deja Bernhardt has captured on camera tender moments of childbirth and human bonding, as they unfold in our planet’s most extreme locations of environmental and political disaster. As Bernhardt takes us from beautiful Bali, where terrorist bombings have destroyed the economy, to post Tsunami Aceh.

Valgeir is the founder of the Bedroom Community record label as well as Iceland’s top recording facility, Greenhouse Studios, where his collaborators include Bjork, Feist, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Camille, CocoRosie, The Magic Numbers, mum and many others.
Opener: David Daniell- Boomslang alumn and experimental guitarist David Daniell. Daniell has collaborated with Loren Connors, Rhys Chatham, Tony Buck, Christian Fennesz, Tim Barnes, Thurston Moore, Greg Davis and Jonathan Kane, and currently works in an ongoing duo with Douglas McCombs of Tortoise.

Gigs: Blakely Burger, Natasha’s
Blakeley Burger is a singer-songwriter and fiddler, who is currently a strings major at the School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCAPA) at Lafayette High School. She plays with the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra, as well as performing in various venues throughout the area as a solo musician both on fiddle and on guitar. Additionally, she recently won Entertainer of the Year, Instrumentalist of the Year, CD of the year, Most Promising Female Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year at the Tennessee and Georgia Country and Gospel Music Association Awards. Blakeley was recently featured on Michael Jonathan’s Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour, as well as playing with world renowned fiddler, Mark O’Connor.
