“The Transylvania Theater Guild presents Suddenly, Last Summer. The one-act play by Tennessee Williams opened in 1958 and focuses on the events surrounding the death of Sebastian Venable during his vacation with his cousin Catherine. Catherine spins a tale of homosexuality and murder, while Sebastian’s mother attempts to have her committed and lobotomized. The backdrop of this heated play is the sultry garden district of New Orleans. As the climax approaches, the audience is forced to separate the truth from the lies and to attempt to understand what really happened last summer.”
