Speak: History to Chew On: Olmstead Brothers, McConnell Springs
June 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
McConnell Springs’ History to Chew on Series presents Olmstead Brothers, with speaker Kenneth Brooks. June 13 at 6 pm.
The Olmstead Brothers was a landscape architectural firm operated by the sons of Frederick Law Olmstead, the father of American landscape architectural practice. After his success with NYC’s Central Park, he worked across the US on numerous projects, public and private. His sons worked with him and eventually took over that practice. They did significant work in Kentucky. This presentation will give an overview of their work with special emphasis on Lexington and the Ashland Park subdivision.
