The 2016 Secretariat Festival of Bourbon County returns on September 16, 2016 at 5 p.m-9 p.m., all day September 17, 2016 and September 18, 2016 at 9 a.m.

Festivities begin early this year on September 15, 2016 at Third Thursday on Main Street.

The Festival’s horse farm tours scheduled throughout the day provide an insider’s view to the Kentucky thoroughbred breeding industry. For those who wish to explore the roots of Secretariat, Claiborne Farm Tours provides visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the prominent thoroughbred breeding operation, now in its 4th generation of ownership by the Hancock Family, where Secretariat was conceived and rests in his hallowed grave site.
