the first community-driven exhibition supported by Tuuum, Lexington Connection (June 20, 2014) brings together work by seven Lexington-based artists – Charlie Campbell, R Clint Colburn, Erin Eldred, Derrick Meads, Colleen Merrill, Bianca Spriggs and David Wischer. Handpicked by local curator and artist Paul Brown, these artists are currently represented on Tuuum, a website that enables artists to broaden their market reach by promoting their work to an international audience.
During the show, organized in occasion of LexArts Hop, visitors will have the opportunity to create a collector profile on Tuuum, buy the work on display and immediately make it part of their personal collection.
The brainchild of a group of NYC based entrepreneurs and developers, Tuuum is a free, user-driven platform, with the purpose of evolving the art sales industry, and shifting agency towards artists and collectors. Lexington is the first mid-size city to be represented by Tuuum. By engaging a market outside the traditional art production centers of NYC and LA, Tuuum hopes to gain a greater and more holistic representation of contemporary art making.
