The Lexington Film League and the North Limestone Community Development Corporation will screen Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance. On Friday, August 16, 2013, at 10 pm, the outdoor screening will close The Night Market, on Bryan Avenue between Loudon and Limestone in Lexington, KY. The event is free and open to the public.

Koyaanisqatsi is shot to look and feel bigger than life through minimalist composition combined slow and fast motion film techniques. Thematically, the film explores environmental damage caused by humans, but artistically, it explores the beauty of our existence, as chaotic as it is. The imagery is famously partnered with a contemplative and emotional score by Philip Glass.

The Night Market is a neighborhood street party featuring local makers, doers, and do-gooders. There will be BBQ, West Sixth Beer, live music, art and handmade goods, and it’s free. The Night Market is being hosted by NoLi CDC in conjunction with the Chamber Music Festival of Lexington, WRFL, Kentucky for Kentucky, and the Lexington Film League.
