The opening celebration of Improbable Baubles: Fairy Tales is at the Headley-Whitney Museum on November 19 at 1 pm.
"Improbable Baubles is an art program designed to give Fayette, Franklin, Jessamine, Scott, and Woodford County public and private school children the opportunity to create, perform, and respond to art. Students will learn the history of George Headley, his artwork and bibelots, and his significance to Kentucky. Students create their own works of art (faux bibelots), compose their own artist statements, perform their own artistic critiques, and democratically choose pieces by their own peers to be displayed at the Headley-Whitney Museum. Students selected to show their work at the Museum will be jurored by local professional artists and receive recognition for their achievements."
