Opening party for “Beatification” by the Hen Party (during September 20 Gallery Hop).

“Beatification” is a collection of paintings, sculpture, and an ordained drag queen blessing of your most hated body parts and/or your most beloved femininity-enhancing accoutrements. From its pink powdered heart to its red glitter badlands femininity is the playground that saves us and redeems us. “Beatification” is a multimedia, whole-environment exploration of femininity as salvation and redemption, and a celebration of the holy “other.”

The Hen Party is a revolving group of uppity women who meet for coffee on Sundays in Lexington, KY. “Beatification” is brought to you by Stacey Earley and Angela Luhys, friends, artists, and office drones whose favorite things include graveyards, gaffes, smirking, and overturning the dominant paradigm.

“Beatification” will run from September 20th through November 1st.
