Lend A hand At Latitude

You may remember that a year ago the artist Beverly Baker was denied transportation by Medicaid from her home in Versailles to Latitude here in Lexington. At the time Latitude put out a call for people traveling this route daily asking if they might be able to give Beverly a ride; there were many responses and soon Beverly was back at Latitude producing the type of art work featured in last week’s Ace Weekly and currently on display at the Lexington Arts and Cultural Council.

After some time Beverly’s mother (retired) was able to provide transportation for Beverly herself, and she did so until last week when unfortunately she required surgery. The surgery has left Beverly without a ride to Latitude for at least six weeks. Latitude is asking our community if they can give us/Beverly a hand with this.

Beverly currently attends Latitude Mon.- Fri. from 8:30am - 4:30pm. Latitude understands that someone commuting to Lexington may not be able to transport at those specific times, but currently they are going with the idea that anytime Beverly can attend is better than none at all.

Latitude is located at 167 Saunier St. in downtown Lexington. (near Victorian Square) if you think you may be able to help, or if you know of someone you think may be able to help please call or email Bruce or Crystal at 859/806-0195.
