Meet the next Mayor

On Thursday, May 9, the candidates will also face-off at the first Old Fashioned Stump in Gratz Park. Hosted by The Gratz Park Neighborhood Association, the traditional political rally will feature a brass band, antique cars, and Jack Pattie, Lexington's "morning mayor of radio," as M.C. Hot dogs, ice cream, cotton candy, and beverages will be sold, and those wishing to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets as no seats will be available. The festivities start at 5:30 p.m.

In Arts News

The Board of Actors' Guild of Lexington has announced the appointment of Kevin Hardesty as Artistic Director, effective July 1, 2002. Upon the retirement of Producing Director Deb Shoss, the theatre will be organized under a new management structure with the position of Artistic Director/CEO being one of comprehensive leadership, both artistic and operational.

All Good Things

Ace's 13th birthday issue will be Jim Shambhu's farewell extravaganza as art director, after seven fun-filled years (probably an industry record). He is leaving for an opportunity to conduct a complete redesign of a monthly trade newspaper, and will also continue to pursue his longtime vocation as one of Lexington's most talented visual artists. You can always find him at http://www.jamesshambhu.com/. In his goodbye email, he writes, "My time here has been just amazing, I have worked and met with some incredible people and I hope, in my future, I am able to just keep up with the memories of those experiences." He will be succeeded by Ace's current Deputy Art Director, Michael Geneve, and will continue to rejoin us from time to time as an occasional consultant. So we're not saying goodbye, just Congratulations, and Best Wishes!!
