5th Annual Chrysalis House Mother’s Day Luncheon, 11:30 am, Chrysalis Community Center. Join to celebrate mothers in recovery and all mothers in our community who work every day to make healthy choices for their families.  If you would like to support mothers at Chrysalis House by making a donation to the Mother’s Day Luncheon. The Mother’s Day Luncheon will be catered by the Apiary Fine Catering and Events Chef and owner, Cooper Vaughan.  Chef Vaughan is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu.

Mayfest Arts Fair, 10 am – 6 pm, Gratz Park & Transy. Mayfest celebrates the literary, visual, and performing arts. There will be artist vendors, including young artists, as well as farmers market vendors.

Mother’s Day Brunch, 12 pm, The Bell House (545 Sayre Avenue). “Come enjoy a special one of a kind brunch celebrating new and expecting mothers. An awesome speaker will provide encouraging words to help you through the first few years of your baby’s life along with giveaways. All are welcome to attend. MayFest 2013

Mayfest Arts Fair, 11 am – 5 pm. Mayfest celebrates the literary, visual, and performing arts. There will be artist vendors, including young artists, as well as farmers market vendors.

Mother’s Day Buffet, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm, Copper Roux. Offering various stations including breakfast, salad, entrée, carving, and a dessert selection for the whole family. The menu includes shrimp gazpacho soup, Louisiana fried catfish, smoked beef brisket, and crab cakes with remoulade sauce, among many others. Desserts include New Orleans bread pudding with Kentucky bourbon sauce, Blue Ribbon banana pudding, and strawberry Bavarian.

Mother’s Day Brunch Cruise, 11:30 am. “Show Mom how much she means to you by giving her a special day to remember, and bring the whole family on the historic Belle of Louisville for a two-hour Ohio River cruise. Include the brunch buffet (guaranteed inside seating, advance reservations required) or choose sightseeing only (upstairs, all-weather outside seating without the buffet) and enjoy a relaxing and fun experience.”

Bluegrass Scenic Railroad Train Excursions for Mother’s Day, 2 pm, Bluegrass Scenic Railroad and Museum in Versailles. Enjoy an 11 mile, 90 minute round trip train excursion through the horse farms of Central Kentucky. Through 11 miles of beautiful Bluegrass horse and tobacco farms, with a stop at a scenic overlook on the Kentucky River. Vintage railroad equipment and memorabilia are on display at the museum.

Central Kentucky Concert Band 40th Anniversary Concert, 3 pm, Lexington Opera House. Featuring guest conductor and co-founder Peter Martin.  

Mother’s Day Dinner Cruise, 5 pm.Take Mom out on her special day for a great evening on the historic steamboat Belle of Louisville. This two-hour Ohio River cruise is just the ticket for celebrating by yourselves or with the whole family. Include the delicious buffet dinner (guaranteed inside seating, advance reservations required) or choose sightseeing only (upstairs, all-weather outside seating without the buffet) and make some new memories.
