Kentucky Native Jordan Smith Makes it to Final of ‘The Voice’

Kentucky native Jordan Smith is one of the contestants that will compete in the finale of season nine of The Voice.

Smith, who represents Team Adam, has been a crowd and judge favorite on the show, eliciting standing ovations with his soulful performances of songs as varied as Sia’s “Chandelier” and Queen’s “Somebody to Love.”

The finale of the voice will be on Monday, December 14 at 8 pm. Results will become official Tuesday night. Smith will be joined on stage by Emily Ann Roberts of Knoxville and Barrett Baber of Fayetteville, Arkansas (both on four-peat winner Blake Shelton’s team) and Jeffry Austin of Chicago (on Team Gwen).

Smith has been a favorite since early this season, his appearance on the final having seemed like a lock with even way back in the first round after his powerful performance of “Chandelier.” Smith has been top of the iTunes charts multiple times now, having beaten out artist Adele this week to claim the top spot with his performance of “Somebody to Love”.

Smith is a native of Harlan County and is currently a senior at Lee University.
