Eating Out for Valentine’s Day?

Alfalfa’s offers a special menu created by chef Jeremy Ashby, including white chocolate passionfruit griddlecakes, lump crab, caramelized onion and goat cheese fritatta for brunch. The dinner menu includes pistachio crusted trout with spiced yogurt, stuffed panko crusted chicken breast with sundried tomato, goat cheese and basil, and crimini and almond stuffed eggplant. For dessert, there’s champagne soaked berries with shortbread and cocoa whipped cream and passionfruit panna cotta with creme anglaise.

Brasabana, a member of the Azur Food Group and featuring Cuban cuisine with a Caribbean flair, presents a special three course Valentine Day dinner on Saturday, February 14 with three seatings at 5, 7 and 9 pm. Music will be provided by Renato Benitas and Santiago Moran.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Azur will offer three days of a four-course menu Friday, Feb. 13 through Sunday, Feb. 15. Couples are invited to design their own prix fixe dinner from menu options like grilled oysters, Caesar salad, Mongolian-braised brisket and Amaretto-chocolate torte.

Beerworks partners with The Gastro Gnomes Food Truck to bring you a three-course prix fixe meal. First course: shrimp, crab, and corn chowder with herbed corn bread and chives. Second course: lamb and portabella mushroom risotto cake wellington or wild mushroom blend risotto cake with brandy cream, brussel sprouts, and fried leeks. Course 3: chocolate cake rounds with a vanilla bean wanna cotta sandwiched in the middle and fresh berries, served with a glass of Southern Tier Choklat.

Bronte’s Bistro will host a Joseph-Beth Booksellers Valentine’s Breakfast, featuring Clifford the Big Red Dog at 8:30 am. Reservations required; call 859.273.2911. Bronte’s Bistro will also offer dinner specials Feb 13 – 15, including 6-ounce sirloin topped with fried onions and balsamic glazed chicken topped bruschetta style.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Buffalo Love, a unique dinner featuring Buffalo Trace’s bourbons at Buffalo Trace Distillery. The dinner includes a six-course food and spirit pairing featuring Buffalo Trace liquor.

Coba Cocina will offer special Feb 13 – 15, including fired oysters with pink petter corn-fellel slaw, and roasted red pepper vinaigrette, mesquite smoked dry-aged prime rib with ancho chile au just and fresh horseradish, and grilled mani mani with hearts of palm ceviche.

Donut Days Bakery will offer red and pink iced donuts, custom handmade petit fours, sugar cookies, cakes and cupcakes.

enoteca on Jefferson St. offers a 5-course prix fixe menu with two glasses of Spanish bubbly. Seatings at 5, 7, and 9 pm. A full bourbon bar is available, together with craft beers and wines elected by Certified Sommelier Renee Brewer.

Equus Run Vineyard in Midway hosts Kisses & Calories, a feast filled with a variety of alcohol and desserts. There will also be a live performance by the Twiggenburys.

European Delights Gourmet Bakery on East Brannon Road offers red velvet whoopee pies, raspberry meringue cups, raspberry ganache cake, and chocolate-covered strawberries.

Holly Hill Inn in Midway will offer an Aphrodisiac Menu Feb 12 – 15. A special seven-course menu will be served only on Valentine’s Day. There will also be a Sweetheart Brunch from 11 am – 2 pm on Feb 14 & 15.

Jean Farris Winery will offer a three-course prix fixe menu Valentine’s weekend.

The Melting Pot will offer a special five-course Valentine’s menu for a full week, February 9 – 15.

Natasha’s will present the Valentine’s Dining experience. Early seating begins at 5:30 pm. Natasha’s hosts strolling violinist Brice Farrar, who plays from 5:30 pm until 7 pm. There will also be a special Chef’s Table. At 8 pm, Valentine’s Day Late Seating begins. Special Sessions play 8 – 10 pm. Call 859.259.2754 to make reservations.

Rooster Brew at 609 Main Street in beautiful downtown Paris will host a special Valentine’s dinner, with a seating limited to 12 couples so register early, 859.707.3436.

Smithtown Seafood at 501 West Sixth Street will have oysters on the half shell with champagne mignonette, scallop rosette in citrus cream sauce, and micro lemon basil, as well as special lobster, mussels, and oyster dishes Feb 13-14.

Stella’s on 143 Jefferson Street offers a prix fixe meal. Options include Stone Cross Farm ribeye or braised pork shoulder.

Wallace Station Deli will offer a special menu Feb 13 – 15, including Aphrodite’s delight: arugula, local greens, pomegranate, strawberries, avocado, chile-dusted goat cheese medallions and pumpkin seed vinaigrette, optional fried or grilled chicken in honey chile glaze. Call 859.846.5161.

Wild Thyme Cooking School and the Bourbon Belle Society present a hands-on chocolate and bourbon experience on Valentine’s Day at 9:15 am. Chefs will show off chocolate desserts including bourbon in the recipe. There will also be a mixology lesson on which bourbon to pair the desserts with. More info at wildthymecooking.com.

Wildside Winery in Versailles presents the Murder by Cupcake Mystery Dinner by Bluegrass Mystery Theatre at 6 pm on Valentine’s Day. There will also be a three-course dinner by Sweet Lilu complemented by Wildside win.

Winchell’s Valentine menu will include shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque, brie salad, sauteed scallops, tenderloin tips, stuffed pork tenderloin, red velvet cake and tiramisu.

Windy Corner Market has dinner specials for Valentine’s Day, including Clear Creek Farm braised beef short ribs bourguignon and lover’s lane berry lovely salad berries from Berries on Bryan.

Woodford Reserve in Versailles will offer romantic dinners and tours from 6:30 – 9:30 pm on Feb 12 – 14. Dinners will include a gourmet meal with hints of cocoa in each course.

Valentine’s Events in Lexington

Mecca Dance Studio hosts the annual Dance of Enticement Workshop on February 12 at 6 pm. Entreat your sweetheart, darling, or habibi to a most exotic and enticing gift: you. Presenting them with the best you by “learning an enticing dance steeped in sensual gorgeousness and strength”. The dance is accessible to all skill levels. Bring a veil or large scarf if you have one (there will be extras). A Dance of Enticement Review Workshop.

The Carver Center on 522 Patterson Street hosts the Cupid Shoot at 5 pm. The adventure archer competition will include couple shoot and his/hers heartbreaker shoot. Basic archery instruction will be provided at 5 pm for beginners. The program begins at 6 pm. Preregistration is required and all equipment will be provided. ArtsPlace hosts a Saturday Night Square Dancing Marathon as a part of the Lexington Old-Time Music Gathering on Valentine’s Day. The night kicks off at 7 pm with caller Julie Shepherd-Powell and the Empty Bottle String Band. At 8:30 pm, caller Peter Rogers takes over, backed by Pawpaw Pickers. Finally, at 10 pm, the caller is Johanna Sims, with support by The Railsplitters.

The Singletary Center for the Arts presents the UK Wind Symphony Concert at 7:30 pm on Valentine’s Day.

Clarion Hotel at 1950 Newtown Pike offers the Cupid’s Creation Package for Valentine’s Day. This includes a hot breakfast for two plus dinner for two at Cortland’s Restaurant and champagne.

The Campbell House at 1375 South Broadway offers the Celebration Package, which includes  a deluxe guest room, romantic dining for two at Kilbern’s, a complimentary bottle of champagne and strawberries dipped in chocolate delivered to your room. The next morning, a breakfast at Kilbern’s is included, as is a late checkout of 2 pm.

Doubletree Guest Suites at 2601 Richmond Road presents the Honeymoon Package, including champagne with keepsake glasses, chocolates, and a bubble bath and breakfast for two. In addition, Doubletree offers the Sweet Romance Package, which includes a bottle of sparkling wine, breakfast for two, and late checkout.

Griffin Gate Marriott at 1800 Newtown Pike features the Couples Romance Package, with deluxe overnight accommodations for two, champagne upon arrival, and a complimentary breakfast.

Hyatt Regency at 401 West High Street offers the Amour package, which includes a steak and egg breakfast for two throw room service or in the Blue Fire Grille and a bottle of champagne.

Hyatt Place at 2001 Bryant Road offers the Valentine’s Pacakge, which inlcudes a bottle of wine from the hotel selection, a chef’s choice of gourmet desserts, an in-house selection of romantic comedies, and a late 2 pm checkout.

Lyndon House Bed & Breakfast at 507 North Broadway offers A Classic Romance – “Breakfast in Bed.” The package includes overnight accommodations for one night with a bouquet of flowers, champagne, dinner at a nearby restaurant with a $100 gift certificate. The next morning, the Innkeeper may prepare a breakfast tray for you to take to your room. Lyndon House also offers the Two Night Honeymoon Package. There are three different options, and all of them include red roses and a bottle of bubbly.  The Radio Show package includes tickets for a live taping of WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour and a dinner at Natasha’s. The Historic Places package includes a pass to four historic homes and dinner at Dudley’s. The Equestrian package includes a horse farm tour and dinner at Jonathan’s.
