The Kentucky Theatre is having a sneak peek of The Way Way Back at 7:30 pm.

Comedy Off Broadway is presenting Chad Daniels, today until Saturday.

Tonight’s Thursday Night Live is The Tim Talbert Project, at Cheapside Square.

Summerfest: A Chorus Line is running all week at the UK Arboretum expect Monday and Tuesday, so you have plenty of time to schedule your visit.

Theatre lovers can also see Always Patsy Cline this week until Sunday, by Studio Players.

Today at 7:00 pm the Friends of the Kentucky Theatre will present a Lexington screening of Our Nixon, an all-archival documentary co-produced by Lexington-based filmmaker, writer, and University of KY professor of law, Brian Frye.  All proceeds go to The Friends campaign for theater upgrades.

One of many of the artworks to be auctioned at the Bone Appetit Day Auction

Today is the Woodford Humane Society’s Bone Appétit Day at Darley’s Gainsborough Farm in Versailles.  The event will include a catered breakfast with TV/movie producer and director Gary Donatelli, silent art auction, and Bone Appétit Tasting Luncheon.

The Lexington Art League has selected nine artists to participate in a Community Supported Art program with a pick-up party with live music from Matt Duncan today.

Fountain Films on Friday is showing the 2001 classic, Legally Blonde in Triangle Park.

Today’s roadtrip is to Louisville for FandomFest, a weekend long Comic and Toy Expo with a long list of celebrity guests scheduled for events.  The Walking Dead fans should look out for cover artist Arthur Suydam and actor Jon Bernthal while there!

SATURDAY July 27, 2013

The third annual Makenna Foundation Summer Concert is tonight at Talon Winery, with all proceeds benefiting the foundation.

5Ks are pretty awesome, but even better when for a cause.  The Farmland 5K at Midway kicks off at 7:30 am, raising funds to protect Bluegrass farmland.

The Kentucky Horse Park is hosting an afternoon of family fun activities from arts and crafts to an equestrian competition in celebration of Hats Off to Kentucky’s Horse Industry Day.  Stop by from 4 pm to 10 pm to join in.

Richard Farkas is signing his book, Elements of Tibetan Buddhism today at 2 pm, Morris Book Shop.

If you’re not out of town for the FandomFest, consider a road trip to Shaker Village for the Shaker Village Summer Concert.

SUNDAY July 28, 2013

FandomFest and Always Patsy Cline wrap up today.

Serious road trippers should head up to Ohio today for a Steve Martin and Steep Canyon Riders concert, featuring Edie Brickell, at the Fraze Pavilion.

Movie lovers can see Uptown Saturday Night at the Lyric Theatre tonight, starting at 3 pm.

Take the kids out to the Central Library for a screening of The Parent Trap at 2 pm.

Tonight’s Woodsongs is Crystal Bowersox and Courtney Jaye at the Lyric Theatre.

TUESDAY July 30, 2013

Today’s road trip is to Vans Warped Tour in Cincinnati for a day of music.

Tonight’s Southland Jamboree features Dean Osborne adjacent to Collins Bowling Center.

Big Band and Jazz has Osland-Dailey Jazztet playing tonight at Ecton Park.

My Man Godfrey is playing at the Kentucky Theatre as a part of the Summer Classic Movies Series.

Tonight’s Red Barn Radio is The Kevin Prater Band at ArtsPlace.
