Tonight’s Thursday Night Live band is Better Off Dead, 5 pm, at Cheapside Square.

Book lovers can look forward to a book signing by major English fiction writer, Neil Gaiman, showcasing his recent publication, The Ocean at the End of the Lane.  Call ahead though, last time we checked the website, tickets were sold out.

The Lions Club’s Bluegrass Fair opens today, running until July 21 at Masterson Station.

FRIDAY July 12, 2013

Studio Players is showing Ted Swindley’s Always Patsy Cline tonight.

Tonight’s live music features Sheisty Khrist, presenting Beat It at 9 pm, Al’s Bar.

Nothing to do on a Friday night?  It’s never a bad idea to catch a free movie with Fountain Films at Triangle Park, especially tonight’s film: Jumanji (8:45 pm).

Today’s road trip is to Louisville for Forecastle Festival, for a weekend of live music.

 For some good food, head on down to the Bourbon, Pork, & Pie Supper; 7 pm, Woodford Reserve.

Shooter Jennings is playing tonight at 8 pm, Renfro Valley.

SUNDAY July 14, 2013

If you still haven’t seen Summerfest’s Peter Pan at the Arboretum, today is your last day.

Battle in the Saddle, the first annual Celebrity Team Penning event, runs today.  Proceeds benefit the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, 7 pm at Kentucky Horse Park.

MONDAY July 15, 2013

Set aside this Monday for the kids with a showing of The Sandlot at the Central Library.

TUESDAY July 16, 2013

Tonight’s Southland Jamboree is Jeff Clair and Half Past Lonesome at 7 pm.

Big Band and Jazz is featuring Rick Cook Quintet at 8 pm at Ecton Park.

Movie lovers can catch Pirates of the Caribbean  at the Central Library, 2 pm.

WEDNESDAY July 17, 2013

Tonight’s Red Barn Radio is Fall Creek Boys, 7 pm at ArtsPlace.

The Kentucky Theatre is showing To Kill a Mockingbird as a part of its Summer Classic Movies Series.  First showing at 1:30 pm, second at 7:15. pm

Comedy Off Broadway is featuring Greg Hahn.
