Kentucky native Barbara Kingsolver’s new novel, Flight Behavior, hit bookshelves this week and  is a uniquely Appalachian fiction take on climate change, as well as a different spin on the butterfly effect.

Kentucky poet Maurice Manning had an Op/Ed in the New York Times earlier this week, My Old Kentucky Conservatism.

Kentucky native Holly Goddard Jones will have a new novel out in February 2013. Her essay “With All Best Wishes” gives Ace readers a little insight into the process of just what goes into a book signing.

Bobbie Ann Mason’s essay “Road Report” is a behind-the-scenes glimpse into a reading.

Mason (and 200 or so additional authors) will be one of the writers showcasing their work at the  31st annual Kentucky Book Fair is November 10, 2012 at the Frankfort Convention Center from 9 AM to 4 PM.

Participating authors this year include dozens of Kentucky favorites, like:

Nora Rose Moosnick, Arab and Jewish Women in Kentucky: Stories of Accommodation and Audacity;

Jason Howard, A Few Honest Words: The Kentucky Roots of Popular Music;

Silas House,  Something’s Rising: Appalachians Fighting Mountaintop Removal.
