Bucky Sallee, the famed Keeneland icon who has been calling thoroughbreds to the post for decades at the storied racecourse in Lexington, worked a double on Wednesday.
The racing meet is in, so there were horses and jockeys to call. But, the nation's eyes are fixed on Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, which tonight will host an internationally broadcast debate between Democratic Vice President Joe Biden and Republican challenger Paul Ryan.
And the media horses needed to be rallied at a bourbon reception hosted by Gov. Steve Beshear.
So, Bucky, wearing the dusty remains of track dayside shift, had to work nights.
Here's a Kentucky tradition, the call to the post, performed for the international media at the Norton Center, which houses the performance hall where tonight's debate will be held.
