Now Listening: Cheyenne Mize, via Oxford American Magazine

Oxford American Magazine recommends Louisville’s Cheyenne Mize this month, writing “The tender harmonies of Cheyenne Mize and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy meld so naturally it’s like they were born as lovers (they’re not). This EP of their renderings of nineteenth-century parlor music, simply put, is a bundle of lullabies.”

OA has also posted a free download (scroll down to their second selection).

Photos by Kakie Urch: Cheyenne recently opened at Natasha’s for Spinning Leaves, the duo behind the Philly Folk Parade. All three played live in the studio on Kakie’s WRFL show Friday before their Lexington performance.
